You must be 18 years of age. No one under 18 will be considered for membership.
As this is an online sisterhood, you must be female. No men will be considered for membership.
You must have a personal website. A personal website means it must have personal information about yourself...this is how we get to know each other.
By joining, you agree to be an active member
by participating in at least one team in the Constellation
you are aligned with. If at anytime you become inactive
or continually do not reply to email from your team leaders,
you will be placed on LOA for 1 week. If after 1 week you
are still not replying to emails or are inactive, you will
be removed from membership. A member is allowed only two
LOAs for inactivity. A third one will automatically result
in removal from SGM. We understand that this is not the
type of group for everyone as it requires more time online,
so please think carefully about this before joining. On
the other hand, constant activity promotes more love and
sisterhood within our SGM family!
You must have an active e-mail account
through your ISP at all times to remain a member of SGM.
Hotmail , Excite, Yahoo and other web-based addys CANNOT
be used as your main SGM address.
The reason for this is because most spammers use the free
web-base emails to hide behind. Therefore SGM has them blocked
to help us cut down on spam to our members. Members of SGM
are on SGM mailing lists. There is a considerable amount
of email and therefore we do all we can to cut down on the
spammers ability to send to our lists. So
PLEASE DO NOT APPLY for membership using hotmail, or any
other webbase mail. You may request a goldenmoon email
in the comments section of the request for membership form.
Otherwise,You will be denied membership.
If at any time your e-mail account bounces for more than
3 days, you will automatically be placed on LOA (leave of
absence) for 1 week. If your mail is bouncing after 1 week,
you will be removed from membership. This is why it's to
your advantage to use our "secondary email address" function.
You then have a back-up. Hotmail and Yahoo addresses can
be used as a secondary email address.
You MUST at all times have an updated
antivirus program running! Not just for your own computers
safety, but for the safety of all SGM members!!
SGM will not take responsibility if you get infected with
a virus through your own negligence or otherwise. Webtv
users obviously do not have the capability of installing
an antivirus program and therefore this rule does not apply
to them.
You must not have any pornography on your web site, or links to pornography. Pornography is defined in our Covenant as "Pictures or Literature of a sexually explicit nature, or links to the same. Sexually explicit refers to any portraying of a sexual act or portrayed to encourage or promote sexual acts. The nude form, if done as art, is not pornography, in fact we celebrate the beauty of the feminine and masculine form".
You must not have a "hate" site, or links to hate sites. Hate is defined in our Covenant as "Any words, symbols, or suggestions of hatred including anything that encourages hate toward any group, individual, or personal freedom or links to the same. Any sites that encourage hate crimes will be reported to authorities".
You must agree to accept all members as they are, and
not show any racism whatsoever. We are all equals, regardless
of the many different life choices we have made, and our
physical appearances. Racism is defined in our Covenant
as "Any hatred or negativity focused on an individual or
group based on their ethnic origin, heritage, skin color,
sexual preference, or race... or suggestion of or links
to the same."
You must agree not to bash anyone, whether it be within Sisters of the Golden Moon, or otherwise. Bashing is defined in our Covenant as "Any words or symbols of a negative or slanderous nature that is degrading or insulting toward any individual or group. Or suggestions of or links to the same".
You must agree to accept the amount of official e-mail sent out by members of SGM, and if written to by a member of SGM, agree to respond to that member's e-mail within 3 days' time.
On your application form, you must choose 2 different Constellations to align with, a first choice and a second choice out of this list: Wisdom, Unity, Reception, Causes, Scribes, Membership.
(Please note: Beauty and KCD are an "Invitation Only" constellation.
Please do not choose these.)
You agree not to give out any private information given
to you once you are approved for membership, including but
not exclusively URLs, passwords and mailing lists.
If you are unable to be active and feel you need a Leave
of Absense, please email your Galaxy Stars and founders,
and tell them about it so you can be put on our official
"Leave of Absence" (LOA) List. Personal LOAs last for 1
month. If after 1 month you have not returned to active
membership, you will be notified that you are being removed
from SGM membership altogether. Special circumstances will
of course be considered. You are allowed a maximum of two
(2) personal LOAs per year.
You agree that the main SGM mailing list is for SGM official use only, and is to be used only by the Founders and Galaxy Stars. If you are found to have used the mailing list without permission, you will get one warning. After the warning, you will be removed from SGM membership. Adding a member to your own personal mailing list without permission, and then sending out junk mails will result in your immediate removal from membership.
If at any time you decide to resign from SGM, you agree
to contact the Founders
and notify them of your decision to do so, giving them your
sgm name, constellation, and email address
when you write to them.
